The National Weather Service confirmed golf ball-size hail fell in Lincoln County Thursday afternoon.

Hail was reported near the intersection of Hwys. 84 and 51 and just east of the I-55 and Hwy. 84 intersection. Storm reports described it as “hail covering the ground and looks like snow.”

The weather service also confirmed ping pong-ball size hail east of Brookhaven.

A severe storm pushed through the area at about 3:15 p.m.
