Man pleads guilty to assault, robbery

Charles Edward Williams Jr. pleaded guilty to robbery, two counts of burglary, two counts of domestic violence and malicious mischief in Lincoln County Circuit Court Tuesday.

Williams was served two indictments June 1, 2015, which alleged he pulled a gun on Anthony Allen to steal money on Nov. 23, 2014, and in March 26, 2015, broke into the home of Willie Pendleton to commit larceny.

On Dec. 9, Williams was issued another indictment which said on a date between March 1 and May 31, 2015, he broke into the home of Angela Williams and assaulted Vivian Hawthorn. It said he assaulted her again on Sept. 12 by strangling her.

A final indictment was issued March 26 which said he kicked dents into a vehicle of Tremeka Smith, intentionally causing damage between $1,000 and $5,000.

Fred Hill Jr.

Fred Hill Jr. was sent to jail for six months Tuesday after pleading guilty to attempting to tamper with a witness in the case of Fred Hill III, who was ultimately found guilty of first degree murder.

Fred Hill Jr. was sentenced Monday to two years, with one and a half suspended. He will serve six months in jail and another six months of post-release supervision.
