To help readers better understand our decision to partner with the U.S. Postal Service for same-day delivery of The Daily Leader, we have offered answers to the most common questions surrounding the change.

Q: Why did The Daily Leader change from newspaper carriers to the U.S. Postal Service?

A: The postal service gives us the best option to deliver the daily newspaper in the most timely and cost-effective method.  It allows guaranteed delivery each and every day and allows us to put more resources toward reporting and providing the best possible local news coverage.

Q: When will I receive my newspaper?

A: You will receive the newspaper with your normal mail delivery, Tuesday-Saturday. The newspaper will continue to publish five days per week. You will receive same-day delivery.

Q: Will it cost more?

A: No, our subscription rates have not changed.

Q: Will there be any change in news coverage or items in the newspaper?

A: Our goal is to provide the most up-to-date news possible, through our print and digital products. This change will allow us to focus more time and resources on presenting complete and comprehensive news reporting for the community.

Q: What if I do not receive my newspaper or do not receive it the same day?

A: Please contact the newspaper office first. We will check the status of your account before contacting the post office and working to get you that day’s paper.

Q: Why the change from Sunday to Saturday delivery?

A: We made the change to a Saturday delivered weekend edition because the post office does not offer delivery on Sundays.

Q: Will I still be able to buy The Daily Leader in stores?

A: Yes, we have many outlets including  gas stations, grocery stores and others vendors that carry the newspaper. Now you will be able to pick up a copy by 8 a.m. each day.

Q: Will my newspaper be delivered to my post office box?

A: Yes, just like your regular mail each day.

Q: What will happen to the newspaper carriers?

A: All have been provided a financial transition package that is generous and goes above and beyond the terms of their contracts.

Q: Who can I contact with questions or issues?

A: Please call our customer service team at 601-833-6961.
