Rushing said Huckaby had been shot multiple times with a handgun.

He identified the homeowner as Anthony Rollins, 21.

“We’re working with the DA’s office,” Rushing said. “No charges have been filed at this time. We’ll present it to the grand jury at the next session.”

Rushing said Huckaby and Rollins were acquaintances. According to Rollins, Huckaby had come to his house and they were in the yard having a dispute. Rollins said he went back into the house, Rushing said.

According to Rollins, Huckaby kicked the door in and Rollins shot him.

Deputies have spoken to a witness who was in Huckaby’s vehicle, but he did not see the shooting.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
