Mississippi Highway Patrol reopened both northbound lanes of I-55 near mile marker 26 at 8:10 p.m., said Cpl. Brandon Fortenberry.

Traffic was rerouted for four hours at mile marker 24, which is Lake Dixie Springs in Lincoln County, just north of the Pike County line, as first responders cleaned debris from the road following an accident involving an 18-wheeler.

One lane was opened around 6 p.m.

Fortenberry said the driver, 58-year-old Scott Sylvester of St. Landry, Louisiana, was transported to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. The wreck is under investigation by MHP.
