It is with great sadness we announce the passing of loving wife, mother and grandmother, Annie L. Allen. Mrs. Allen passed away at the age of 83, on June 21, 2019, at Oxford Health and Rehab, in Oxford, Mississippi. Annie Lou was born on Nov. 25, 1935, in Big Creek, Mississippi, to James Wesley and Beulah Mae Long.

On Feb. 14, 1953, she married Solon Eugene Allen of Brookhaven, Mississippi, and together they raised a son, Donny Glen Allen of Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Annie was happiest when she was spending time with her family. This included extended and immediate alike. She loved her husband, son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, unconditionally and without fail. She was a huge fan of country and gospel music and truly thought that Vince Gill was the best of them all. She never turned down a hug and usually was the first to start the process of a hug. She enjoyed family reunions, good singing, and even better food. If she wasn’t already baking, you would find her collecting recipes that pertained to baking. She will be missed dearly.
