Doyce Houston Cleckler, 49, of Sumrall, MS, journeyed into heaven on October 6, 2020 at UMMC in Jackson, surrounded by his family. He was born April 10, 1971 in McComb, MS.

Doyce was a graduate of Loyd Star High School, and he earned his associate’s degree at Southwest Mississippi Community College. He was a meat inspector for the Mississippi Department of Agriculture, but his most important role was dad. Doyce loved attending Sumrall Bobcats sporting events and cheering on his boys. He also was quite serious about his other favorite role as a mentor and “Uncle Doyce” to so many people. A strong faith in Jesus directed Doyce, and he spent much of his time with his church family at The Springs Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed leather working, founding SoCro Leathers, helped the community through the organization he created, Forever 76 Ministries, and loved to cook and spend time with his family especially at Sunday Night Dinners.

Doyce is preceded in death by one son, Brandon Michael Cleckler; and his parents, Doyce Edward Cleckler and Annie Louise Jordan Cleckler of Brookhaven, MS. He is survived by his brother, sister-in-law, and nephew, Cameron, Valerie, and Eli Cleckler of Sumrall; two sons, Zachary Houston Cleckler of Sumrall and Dein (Ashley) Fly of Hattiesburg; mother of his children, Angela Cleckler of Sumrall; one grandson, Walker Fly of Hattiesburg, MS; two Godmothers, Betty Carol Rushing and Nita Jordan of Brookhaven; extended nephews and nieces, Dontarian Harris, Ashley Smith, Kiera Walker, Danielle Scruggs, Carson Smith and Logan Claire Scruggs of Sumrall; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
