Mrs. Toni Callender Allen, 63, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at her home after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was a native of Brookhaven, Miss., and had lived in Monroeville, Ala., since 1984.

Mrs. Allen was a graduate of the University of Mississippi, a member of First Baptist Church of Monroeville and was employed at AM/NS Calvert Steel Mill for the last 10 years. She was previously employed at Vanity Fair for 19 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Winford Callender and Ruth Elizabeth Fikes Callender of Brookhaven, Miss.; her brother, Sherwin Callender of Brookhaven, Miss.; and her sister Marion Callender Dickey of Bandera, Tex.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband of 40 years, Phillip Allen of Monroeville, Ala.; her son, Christopher (Jessica) Allen of Birmingham, Ala.; her daughter, Sarah Allen of Mobile, Ala.; three grandchildren, Lane Allen, Bethany Allen and Emily Anne Allen of Birmingham, Ala.; brothers-in-law, Ronald Dickey (Major Retired) of Bandera, Tex., David (Lt. Col. Retired Jan) Allen of Yorktown, Va., Douglas (Tamara) Allen of Baton Rouge, La. and Paul (Sarah) Allen of Goose Creek, S.C.

Surviving nieces and nephews are Melissa (Rev. James) Wilson of Gautier, Miss., Stefan Allen of San Antonio, Tex., Brian (Erin) Dickey of Chevy Chase, Md., Michael Allen of Baton Rouge, La., Ryan Allen of Yorktown, Va., Hannah Allen of Goose Creek, S.C., Hayley Allen of Goose Creek, S.C., Kevin Allen of Baton Rouge, La., Hope Allen of Goose Creek, S.C., and Blake Allen of Goose Creek, S.C. She is also survived by one great-niece, Madeleine Marion Dickey of Chevy Chase, Md.

Toni demonstrated a love of reading, volunteering in community organizations that her husband, Phillip, was involved in such as Peddlin’ for a Cure, Kiwanis, First Baptist Church and Pilots for Christ. She loved attending Ole Miss games and activities, playing bells at church and supported her children in various school and community activities. 

Visitation was held on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.  Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, with the Rev. Glenn Eubanks officiating.  Interment was at Pineville Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing.

The family would liked to thank everyone at Hospice of Monroe County, the Oncology Department and staff at Monroe County Hospital for their support.
