Marley Scott Brister

Funeral services for Marley Scott Brister, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, at First Baptist Church of Brookhaven, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

     Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

     Mr. Brister, 47, died March 8, 2012, in Brookhaven. He was born in Mississippi on Aug. 21, 1964.

     He was a Lieutenant with Brookhaven Police Department and owner of Brister Painting. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven.

     Mr. Brister enjoyed golfing and fishing. He also loved to cook, earning him the name, “Chef Marley Scott.” He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and was a loving father.

     Preceding him in death were his father, Glenn Brister; and grandparents, Marley Scott and Alton and Annie Bell Brister.

     Survivors are his mother, Elaine Scott Brister; sons, Samuel Brister and wife, Felicity, Zach Brister and Jake Brister; daughter, Abigail Brister; brother, Jeff Brister and wife, Beth; two grandchildren; Keagan Brister and Ainsley Brister; and grandmother, Ruth Scott.
