Ila Jane Olson Cox, 89, of Monticello, died Tuesday, April 19,2011, at Southwest Medical Center in McComb. Funeral services are 2p.m. Saturday, April 23, at Carmel Baptist Church in Monticellowith burial in the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home ofMonticello is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 11 a.m.until service time.

Ms. Ila loved her church and church family, and was an avid mysterybook reader; and, not only did she like to read, but she alsoenjoyed writing stories about her life and wanted to share themwith others. She became an author by publishing her first story atage 88. She wrote six stories that were published. She also enjoyedtraveling, having cruised around Alaska and the Caribbean. When notreading, traveling or writing, she enjoyed the flower gardens ather home.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Cornelious Olson and ElsieTignor Olson; and her husband, Jack Dempsey Cox.

Survivors are her daughter, Lana Irene Cox Ramsey of Bumpass, Va.;her son, Adam Brown Cox of Brookhaven; her grandchildren: JessicaStever, Nicholas Stever, Tishauna Stever Bouza, Corey Ramsey, EmilyRamsey, Whitney Cox, Harley Cox, Justin Subbe, Patrick Johns,Alisha Johns and Misti Johns; her great grandchildren, Andrew Coxand Brook Johns.
