Services for Earl C. Yates Jr. are 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, atBrookhaven Funeral Home’s Natchez Drive location with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Yates, 84, died Oct. 13, 2007. He was born on Sept. 20,1923, to Earl Yates Sr. and Jessie Mae Smith Yates.

He was a retired drug representative for veterinary supplies. Hewas a member of the Greatest Generation Coffee Club and volunteeredat the military museum. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Heserved in the U.S. Air Force.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, MarjorieWalker Yates; and his son, Scott Walker Yates.

Survivors are his sons, Rusty Yates, of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Pat and Robert Bowton, of Brookhaven; his brother,Charles Yates, of Philadelphia; his sister, Quida Moore, ofChattanooga, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Sheri Thibodeaux and SandyBarker, both of Brookhaven; and six great-grandchildren.
