Services for Etta Pearl Smith Ray of Brookhaven were 1 p.m.Saturday, Sept. 29, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Wesson Cemetery.

Mrs. Ray, 70, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at her residence.She was born in Brookhaven on Nov. 2, 1930, to the late Pearlie”P.L.” and Lora Etta Smith Smith.

She was a chancery court reporter and legal secretary. She was amember of Beauregard United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Preston”A.L.” Ray.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and SandraRay of Richland and Jeff and Renae Ray of Wesson; formerdaughter-in-law, Ruthie Stewart of Brookhaven; brother, Bobby Smithof Vicksburg; sisters, Patsy Jordan of Altus, Okla., and JoyceEvans of Wiggins; and four grandchildren, Dana Brooks, Zack Ray,Loran Ray and Claire Ray.
