Services for Oneal Mackbee Sr. of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.Tuesday, August 28, at Hopewell M.B. Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Mr. Mackbee, 70, died Thursday, August 23, 2001, at hisresidence. He was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 13, 1931, to thelate Spurgeon and Laurette Hooker Mackbee.

He was a retired logger. He was a member of Hopewell M.B.Church, where he served as a trustee. He was a veteran of the U.S.Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, James andBonnie Howard; and sisters, Corrine Ross and Birteal Dawson.

Survivors are his wife, Josie Mae McGee Mackbee; sons, AlonzoEarl Mackbee, Oneal Jr. and Lonnie Ray Mackbee; daughters, VeronicaSanders, all of Brookhaven, and Jennifer Parish of Portland, Ore.;brothers, J.W. Mackbee of Hattiesburg and Issac Mackbee ofBrookhaven; sister, Celeste Levy of Brookhaven; 15 grandchildren;and a host of other relatives and friends.
