Services for Annie Ruth Laird, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Friday,Jan. 8, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on North Jackson Streetwith burial in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Laird, 92, died Jan. 5, 2010, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 3,1917, to Will Franklin and Minnie Nettles Franklin.

She was a certified nurse’s assistant and retired from HavenHall Health Care Center in Brookhaven. She was a member of CentralBaptist Church, where she was also a Sunday school member.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jim Laird;her sons, Claude, Frank D., Alfred, Bill A., Paul, Barnett and JimLaird Jr.; her brothers, Jim Franklin, Joe Franklin and BenFranklin; and her sisters, Rae Lewis, Veda Furr and LillieSmith;

Survivors are a son, Herbert Laird, of Brookhaven; herdaughters, Jimmie Ahrend and Diane Laird, both of Brookhaven; her12 grandchildren; and her 17 great-grandchildren.
