WESSON — Co-Lin men’s head basketball coach Dennis Sims saidthe Wolves like to play at home. He was right.

Monday night, Sims’ Wolves handed the Coahoma Tigers a 92-64whipping in Grady Mullen Gymnasium. It was the Wolves’ first win ofthe season and makes them 1-2.

Coahoma, coached by James Washington, fell to 0-3 on theseason.

The Tigers never led in the game. They tied the Wolves 3-all atthe 19:19 mark in the first half. Co-Lin went up 9-3 at the 17:34mark and 11-5 following sophomore guard Dexter Middleton’slayup.

The Wolves enjoyed a 29-17 lead with 10:31 left in the half,then went on a 15-2 run to push their lead to 44-19 with 3:10 untilhalftime.

At the half, the Wolves led by 20 points, 47-27.

“Overall, we are shooting the ball well,” said Sims. “This isthe quickness group I have had since I’ve been here. We shot theball pretty well early.”

In the second half, Coahoma cut the deficit to 19 points, 53-24,with 16:13 left to play as Co-Lin responded on fast breaks anddunks and pushed its lead up 20-plus points the remainder of thegame.

Sophomore guard Ledell Eackles directed the Wolves with 21points. including 3 three-pointers. Freshman guard Joe Hollidayfollowed with 19 points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard DexterMiddleton pumped in 12 points and had four assists. Freshman guardIvory Dishmon finished with 11 points and had six assists.

Tops off the backboards for Co-Lin with eight rebounds wasfreshman center Tremaine Enoch. Following Enoch with six reboundsapiece were Derrick Stewart and Arvel Keys.

Sophomore forward Richard Cannon of Coahoma led the way with 19points. Scoring 16 points was freshman guard Earl Curry.

Co-Lin visits Holmes for two games Thursday. The women beginplay at 6 p.m.
