Funeral services for Darrell Glen Smith of Brookhaven were 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Fair River Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith, 68, died April 4, 2013 at Lawrence County Nursing Center. He was born in Brookhaven on May 9, 1944 to Edgar Lee Smith and Mavis Anding Smith.

He was an inspector at Keystone-Seneca Wire Cloth Co. and a member of Fair River Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; in-laws, Conway and Louise Foster Carlisle; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Kingsmill, Sue Smith and Christine Smith; three nieces, Kathy Lynn Smith, Mary LeAnne and Wendy Carol Kingsmill; and nephew, Donavan Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Geraldine Smith; brothers, Leland Smith and wife, Dorothy, of Brookhaven and Leonard Smith and wife, Connie, of Brookhaven; brother-in-law, Vern Kingsmill of Baytown, Texas; sisters-in-law, Lavenia Townsend and husband, David, of Baytown, Texas, and Crickett Carlisle and husband, Jimmie Wilkerson, of Brookhaven; nieces and nephews, Beth Burns Schlauch and husband, Wes, of Baytown, Texas, Anita Burns Boyd and husband, Chris, of Brookhaven, Rebecca Smith Baker and Donnie of Brookhaven, Wanda Sue Smith Moncrif and husband, Jeff, of Brandon, Duane Smith of Brookhaven, Wendell Smith and wife, Sherry, of Wesson, James Kingsmill and wife, Deborah, of Baytown, Texas, Kevin Townsend and wife, Diane, of Kansas City, Mo., and Davida Townsend Rosser and husband, Beau, of Highlands, Texas; 20 great-nieces and great-nephews; and aunt, Eva Nations. Other survivors are his second family of Lawrence County Nursing Center and the wonderful staff who were so good to him, along with special people in his life, Mary and Junior Posey, and many other special friends and relatives.
