Lawrence Victor ‘Vic’ Thadison

Services for Lawrence Victor “Vic” Thadison, of Brookhaven, areat noon on Saturday, May 19, at Williams Mortuary Chapel withburial in Rosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home, withfamily hour on Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon.

Mr. Thadison, 75, died May 14, 2007, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on July 4, 1931, to R.T. Thadison and VanzieCreshon Thadison.

He was retired. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He wasa member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church.

He accepted Christ at an early age, under the pastorage of the Rev.William L. Creshon and the Rev. Phelon T. Thadison II.

He excelled academically in grade and high school, graduating withhonors in 1950 from Alexander High School. He attended DillardUniversity, majoring in biology and medicine. He served in theUnited States Army, after which he relocated to Chicago, Ill.,where he worked with the transit authority.

Tiring of the cold winters, he returned to Brookhaven to aid in thecare of his parents.

By choice, he remained a bachelor. However, his nieces and nephewsbecame his surrogate children, especially his grandniece,Brandie.

Vic was one of a kind who simply lived life to the fullest and didit his way. He touched lives and taught others to do the same. Likethe free spirit he was, he ran a good race and fought a goodfight.

Lawrence, the last of the Thadison branch, follows his parents,R.T. Thadison and Vanzie Creshon Thadison; his brother, RobertThomas Thadison; his sister, Patrinella Autemese Thadison Diggs;and Ronald Thadison, his nephew.
