Mr. Ford, 75, died June 27, 2001, in Dallas. He was born inNorfield on April 8, 1926, to James Franklin and Thelma ReevesFord. He was a graduate of Memphis State University.

He was retired from Sears. He had owned a restaurant and hadbeen in the real estate business. He was a Navy veteran ofWWII.

Survivors are his wife, Joy Brown Ford of Dallas; his daughter,Cynthia Jones of Belleville, Mich.; his brother, Eugene Ford ofBogalusa, La.; his sister, Sue Moak of Brookhaven; his stepsons,Dr. Lex Hubbard of Shreveport, La., and Dr. Rex Hubbard ofWinchester, Tenn.; his stepdaughter, Phyllis Burnette of Atlanta,Ga.; and two grandchildren.
