Services for Hattie B. Thompson of Bogue Chitto are 2 p.m.,Saturday, Aug. 14, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m. at William’sMortuary. Family hour is from 6-7 p.m.

Mrs. Thompson, 74, died Aug. 9, 2004, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital. She was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 16, 1929,to K.C. Barnes and Mary Milton Barnes.

She was a retired health care giver. She was a member of Mt.Zion Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband,Robert Lee Cook; 11 brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors are her husband, Burnett Thompson of Bogue Chitto; herdaughters, Sadie Evans and her husband, Johnnie, of Chicago, Ill.,Doris Wiggins and her husband, Willie, of Chicago, Felecia Powersand her husband, Randy, of Jackson, and Valarie Thompson-Chatmanand her husband, Victor, of Jackson; her sons, Eddie Cook and hiswife, Linda, of Bogue Chitto, and Fred Thompson and his wife,Gwendolyn, of Bogue Chitto; her sister, Mattie McKnight of BogueChitto; her brother Tommie Barnes Sr., of Kansas; 20 grandchildrenand 23 great grandchildren.
