Services for Herman Benford Goss Jr. of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Saturday, Nov. 29, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Friday, Nov. 28, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeralhome, and Saturday at 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mr. Goss, 78, died Nov. 26, 2003, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Greenwood on March 6, 1925, to Herman andOla Goss.

He retired from South Central Bell in 1977 with 29 years ofservice. He was a veteran of World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, James K.Goss, and his infant sister, Lorraine Goss.

Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Billie A. Goss ofBrookhaven; his children, Richard Goss and wife Jennifer, DavidGoss, Thomas Goss and wife Marie, Kathy Goss and friend Mary AnnEldridge, Susan Smith and husband Joey, Ken Goss and wife Rita; hissisters, Bernice McLeod of Mobile, Ala., and Mary Lois Wiltshire ofTulsa, Okla.; his grandchildren, Chris and Ben Goss, Clint Goss,Matt Goss, Ashley Leann Flynn, Amanda, Leannda, Ashley and KevinGoss, Garrett and Elaina Jo Smith, and Emily Goss; hisgreat-grandchildren, Cory and Dave Goss; his mother-in-law, EstelleArtman of Country Brook Nursing Home; his in-laws, Charles andMartha Artman of Byram and Dan and Janet Artman of Jackson; hisnieces and nephews, Ronnie and Jackie Brooks, Karen Tuck, CindyKiser, Jimmy Parkerson, Steven and Jeff Artman, and Michael andAngie Artman.
