Services for Ralph Charles Smith of Summit are 11 a.m. Tuesday,July 4, at Hartman Funeral Home Chapel in McComb with burial inWoodlawn Cemetery in Summit.

Visitation is today from 6 until 9 p.m., and on Tuesday from 9a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 80, died July 2, 2006, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Lincoln County onMarch 20, 1926, to Edger Green Smith and Anna Dunigan Smith.

He was retired from his job as a drilling superintendent withMurphy Oil Company. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was alifelong member of Summit Masonic Lodge #231. He was a member ofFellowship Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife of 55years, Dorothy B. Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Birdie Dickinson Smith, of Summit; hisdaughters, Delores Moak and husband Elliott, of Summit, Dee DeeHinton, of Summit, Gwen Lockett, Janet Tucker and husband Don, allof Zachary, La.; his son, Jeff McCurley and wife Barbara, ofZachary; his grandchildren and their spouses, Dwayne and Dana Moak,Dlayne and Chastity Moak, all of Brookhaven, Kerri Hinton, ofHammond, La., Keith and Kevin Hinton, of Summit, Angela Lockett, ofZachary, Tiffany and Steven Treloar, of Kansas, and Jeffrey,Melissa and Megan McCurley, of Zachary; his great-grandchildren,Blaine, Madison and Parker, all of Brookhaven; his sisters andtheir spouses, Marie Laird, Margie Smith, Betty and James Keen, andCarolyn and Claude Bowlin, all of Brookhaven; his brothers andtheir spouses, Melvin and Elva Smith, of Long Beach, and Donald andCarolyn Smith, of Brookhaven; and numerous nieces, nephews, otherrelatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers are Jeff McCurley, Don Tucker, Harold Smith, MemphisSmith, Delroy Smith and Donald Smith.
