Services for Charles Wesley Thompson Sr., of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Friday, July 3, at R.E. Tyler Funeral Home Chapel inBrookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from noon until 7 p.m. at the funeralhome with family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Thompson, 90, died June 26, 2009, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. He was born in Jefferson County on Dec. 30, 1918, toBoss Thompson and Blanche Thompson.

He was a barber. Mr. Thompson served in the U.S. Army duringWorld War II.

Preceding him in death were parents; and his brothers, M.C.Thompson, George Thompson and Charlie Thompson.

Survivors are his spouse, Virginia Mae Thompson, of Brookhaven;his sons, Cortez and Charles Thompson Jr., of St. Louis, Mo.; hisdaughters, Cresleonyta Thompson and Cleatrice Smiril, of St. Louis;a sister, Josie Mae Roberson, of Chicago, Ill.; his sevengrandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
