Florence E. ‘Boots’ Carney

Services for Florence E. “Boots” Carney, of Monticello, are at 2p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Sauls Valley Baptist Church with burialin the church cemetery in Monticello. Wilson Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church andTuesday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Mrs. Carney, 81, died Sept. 20, 2009, at McComb Extended Careand Nursing Home. She was born in Mississippi on Aug. 26, 1928, toWinnfield Scott Sauls and Mattie Peavey.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sauls Valley BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Tom E.Carney; her brothers, Jimmy Sauls and Pat Sauls; and her sisters,Laura Givens and Doris Barker.

Survivors are her sons, Tommy Carney and Ronnie Carney, both ofMonticello; a daughter, Donna Carney, of McComb; her brothers,Buddy Sauls, of Ruth, Billy Sauls, of Monticello, and Glynn Sauls,of Byram; a sister, Dorothy Martin, of Beaumont, Texas; her threegrandchildren; and her two great-grandchildren.
