Fluvia Jan Ratliff Kessler

Services for Fluvia Jan Ratliff Kessler of Delano, Calif., were1 p.m. Sept. 5, at First United Methodist Church in Delano withburial in North Kern District Cemetery. Lane Family Funeral Home isin charge of arrangements. Services were conducted by the Rev.Scott Allred.

Mrs. Kessler, 71, died Sept. 1, 2003, in Delano, Calif. She wasborn in Brookhaven on Nov. 11, 1931.

She was a physical education teacher at Delano High School for26 years, and an avid golfer.

Survivors are her husband of 42 years, Elmer; her sons anddaughters-in-law, Dale and Michelle, and David and Trulie; hersister, Maydee Fields; her brothers, Charles, Norman, Jerry andLarry Ratliff; and one grandchild.

Doris Young Roach

Services for Doris Young Roach of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. Monday,Sept. 8, at First Baptist Church with burial in Riverwood MemorialPark Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Sept. 7, from 4-8 p.m. and Monday, Sept.9, from 8-10 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Roach, 81, died Sept. 5, 2003, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Winston County on Feb. 23, 1922, to PierceYoung and Mary Ruby Stevens Young.

She was a former housewife, mother and substitute teacher. Shewas a member of First Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; siblings, Rosser LevelYoung, James S. Young, Ida Louise Monroe, and Ruth YoungMullendore.

Survivors are her husband of 57 years, W.L. Roach; her son anddaughter-in-law, W.L. Roach Jr. and Deb of Sierra Vista, Calif.;her daughter and son-in-law, Ruby Nan Midkiff and Louis ofBrookhaven; her sister and brother-in-law, Sybil Young Gardner andThad; and her grandchildren, W.L. Roach III and wife Erin ofPhoenix, Brian Lamar Roach of Phoenix, Martin John Bostick ofNashville, and Paige Midkiff of Wynne, Ark.; and hergreat-granddaughter, Kiersten Roach.
