Edith Rae Smith Allred, 85, died June 16, 2013 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb. She was born on Aug. 26, 1927 in Lincoln County to the late Victor E. Smith and Clara Watts Smith.

She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene for 44 years, where she served in the nursery department (which was her love). She also served as treasurer and missionary director. She loved her church and the work she did for the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steve Allred; sister, Eva Nell Britt; and brothers, Hollis Smith, Shelby “Chuck” Smith and Jack Smith

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Alton Allred; daughters, Clara Ann Coggins and husband, Bill, of Columbus, Sue Godbold and husband, Don, of Brookhaven and Becky McDavid and husband, Mike, of Brookhaven; son, Keith Allred and wife, Dale, of Bogue Chitto; grandchildren, Currie Prince and husband, Michael, of Columbus, Brad Godbold and wife, Jennifer, of Terry, Daniel Allred and wife, Mandy, of Brookhaven, Dasha Bond and husband, Kenny, of Nashville, Mason Allred of Nashville, Ben Allred of Brookhaven, Sally Beth McCullough and husband, G.T., of Natchitoches, La., Dustin McDavid and wife, Laura, of Pineville, La. and Caleb McDavid and wife, Kacie, of Brookhaven; and great-grandchildren, Calloway Prince, Carsen Prince, Anna Prince, Mary Morgan Prince, Molly Godbold, Luke Godbold, Lilli Johnson, Avery Johnson, Noah McDavid, Silas McDavid, Asher McDavid, Payden McDavid and Hannah McKee.
