Services for Mae Ruth Dickey May, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Saturday, May 6, at St. Paul M.B. Church with burial in HillcrestCemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, withfamily hour from 6 to 7 p.m.

Mrs. May, 58, died May 3, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on Sept. 13, 1947, to Albert Dickey and LizzieDickey.

She was a graduate of Sunshine High School in St. Gabriel, La.She was disabled. She was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents; her father; herdaughter, Angel Brown; and her son-in-law, Ricky Lawson.

Survivors are her mother; her husband, Kenneth Earl May, ofBrookhaven; her daughters, Shonda Lawson, of Brookhaven, MechelleHoward and husband Witz, of Geismar, La., and Carleise Norman, ofStockbridge, Ga.; her stepdaughters, LaToya Smith and husbandLaMarcus, of Monticello, Vanessa Thompson and husband the Rev.Aaron Thompson, of Monticello; her stepson, Kenneth May Jr., of LosMesa, Calif.; her sisters, Mateline Johnson and husband Shedrick,and Joyce Leggett and husband Johnson, all of Gonzales, La.; herbrother, Ernest Dickey, of Brookhaven; her aunts, Earlene Williamsand husband Charlie, of Brookhaven, Mary Carter and husband Nathan,and Anna Alexander, all of Brookhaven; her 15 grandchildren; hergreat-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
