UTICA — Powered by guard Nikki Williams and center Anna Autman,the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves remained unbeatenin the South Division basketball race with a 66-47 Monday nighttrouncing of the Hinds-Utica Lady Bulldogs. Williams pumped in 17points and Autman added 13.

In the men’s game, Hinds whipped the Wolves 66-53, led by LewisYounger and Jemario Buntin with 13 points each.

Co-Lin continues South Division action Thursday night, hostingPearl River Community College for a twinbill. The women’s’ gametips off at 6 p.m. in Mullen Gymnasium, followed by the men at7:45.

The Lady Wolves (9-4, 5-0) won their fifthstraight game last night. On the backboards, they were directed byErica Trahan with 13 boards and Autman with 8.

Williams pumped in 15 of her 17 points in the second half,chilling the Hinds comeback. Coach Gwyn Young’s team led Hinds34-22 at halftime.

“Any road win is good for us,” said Young. “The first fiveminutes of the game we scored with ease, but then we gotoverconfident and let Hinds get back in.

“In the second half, Hinds made a run early but we managed tohold a lead,” Young added. “Erica Trahan and Anna Autman got somebig rebounds for us.”

Co-Lin outrebounded Hinds 44-34. Hinds was led by DominiqueThomas with 11 rebounds and Michael Gaines with 9. Kimberly Wardscored 13 points.

The Wolves (8-5, 3-2) struggled offensively anddefensively against Hinds. Geric Anderson was the only Co-Linplayer reaching double digits, scoring 12 points and added 6rebounds.

“Hinds beat us in every area of the game,” said Co-Lin men’scoach Dennis Sims. “Give Hinds credit for winning, but this has gotto rate as one of the worst games I’ve been involved with.”

There appeared to be an invisible lid on the goal in the firsthalf as Co-Lin missed 11 shots in the 3-foot range. The Wolves were3 for 8 from the free throw line and committed 12 turnovers.

Co-Lin was 4 of 13 from 3-point range and 19 of 42 from 2-pointdistance. At the charity line, Co-Lin made just 9 of 19.
