Evelyn Graves Windham, 92, of Colonial Pines Health Center inSan Augustine, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2006. She wasborn on Feb. 22, 1914 in Port Arthur, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, V.H. Windham.They owned and operated Windham’s Gulf Service Station for 30 yearsin Port Arthur before retiring to Brookhaven. She was also precededin death by her two sisters, Gertrude Farquhar and CordeliaSchmidt, and two brothers, Dan Graves and Otu Graves. She issurvived by her only daughter, Verlene Purgahn and her husband,Bill, of Hemphill, Texas, grandson, Chad Purgahn, his wife, Caroland great-grandson Heath Purgahn of Remlap, Ala., granddaughter,Holly Fowler, and great granddaughter, Alisa Fowler of Lebanon,Tenn., and several nieces and nephews and great nieces andnephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2006,at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Burial will follow inGreenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be Sunday evening from 6to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
