Services for Willie Rushing Walker, of Madison, formerly of St.Joseph, La., are 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Young’s Funeral Homein Ferriday, La. A burial service will be held at 1 p.m. atRosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Walker, 77, died Feb. 8, 2006, at Hospice Ministries inJackson. She was born in Brookhaven on Feb. 19, 1928, to Alcus andOla Rushing.

She lived and raised her family in St. Joe for 40 years whereshe was a member of the First United Methodist Church of St.Joseph. She was a loving wife, mother and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, EllisWalker; her brothers, L.P. and Orville Rushing; and a sister, LoisHuges.

Survivors are her sons, Keith Walker, of Ferriday, and Myron”Bubba” Walker and his wife, Beverly, of Madison; hergrandchildren, Amanda Walker Young and her husband, Shane, ofMonterey, La., Clif Brumfield and his wife, Joanna, of Natchez,Stefanie Walker, of Madison, and Michele Walker, of Madison; hersister, Ann Cross and her husband, Jerry, of Huntsville, Ala.; herbrother, Fred Rushing, of Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews,family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Clif Brumfield, Lee Winters, Ronnie Baker,Donnie Baker, David Bell, Jordan Jones, Kenneth Jones, Brian Crossand Michael Cross.
