Services for Rayford Franklin, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Monday, May 10, at Mt. Zion Church of Christ with burial in thechurch cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Franklin, 85, died May 7, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on March 1, 1925, to George M. Franklin andJahazie Laird Franklin.

He was retired from the state highway department. He was a memberof Mt. Zion Church of Christ and a U.S. Army veteran of World WarII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Hollis,George Earl, Lancy and Norman “Chick” Franklin; and his sisters,Velma Watts, Callie Stewart and Ann Allred McMullen.

Survivors are his wife, Jewell Redd Franklin, of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Wanda Franklin Waldon, of Horn Lake, and Judy FranklinSmith and Cynthia Case, both of Brookhaven; his son, WoodieFranklin, of Brookhaven; 10 grandchildren; and 17great-grandchildren.

The family wants to give a special thank you to all of theirfriends and neighbors for their love and care during Mr. Rayford’sillness.
