Lincoln County Circuit Clerk Terry Lynn Watkins is in BaptistHospital in Jackson undergoing tests after family members said shewas found unconscious on the floor of her home Thursday.

Watkins’ daughter Regina McCaffrey said her mother had gotten upThursday morning feeling light-headed. She said as Watkins gotready for work, she fainted and was unconscious for around threehours.

“When she didn’t show up for work, the girls at the office gotconcerned,” McCaffrey said. “And then when she didn’t show up forcourt they knew something was wrong because she wouldn’t just notcome in and not call.”

Some of Watkins’ deputy clerks went to her home, found her onthe floor and then called 911, McCaffrey said. She was taken byambulance to King’s Daughters Medical Center, where she was treatedin the emergency department and transferred to Baptist Hospital inJackson at the family’s request.

McCaffrey said Watkins’ condition improved throughout the dayThursday.

“She was talking last night and she was more alert, and all hervitals and everything are stable,” she said Friday morning. “Buttoday they’ll start tests to see what triggered it.”

The family appreciates all the calls and prayers they’vereceived since Thursday morning, McCaffrey said. At this point,however, visitors are being asked to hold off.

“When people are calling, we’re so thankful for the calls andprayers, and we want everyone to please keep praying for her,”McCaffery said. “But right now we’re trying to limit visitors toonly family. We appreciate the concern for sure, though.”
