Services for Leola Boone, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Tuesday,Jan. 22, at First United Methodist Church with burial at RiverwoodMemorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until noon at BrookhavenFuneral Home on Natchez Drive.

Mrs. Boone, 96, died Jan. 18, 2008, at Brookmanor Nursing Home.She was born on Sept. 25, 1911, in Meban to Woody Speed and MinniePrice Speed.

She was a teacher and minister’s wife. She was a member of FirstUnited Methodist church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 68years, the Rev. Norman Boone; four brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include her son Brendon Boone and wife, Karen, ofThousand Oaks, Calif.; her daughter, Rebecca Smith and husband,Ken, of Laguna Beach, Calif.; her brother, Lehman Speed, ofJackson, Ga.; her sister, Lenora Collins, of Baton Rouge, La.;three grandchildren, Brendon Boone III, of Encino, Calif., StephenSmith and wife, Valeria, of Keller, Texas, and Allyson Smith, ofNewport Beach, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Luciana Smith andJason Smith, both of Keller.
