Services for Dr. Robert S. Magee of Ruston, La., were held atTemple Baptist Church in Ruston with burial in Pines MemorialGardens.

Dr. Magee, 70, died July 23, 2002, in Shreveport. He was born inCollins on Sept. 20, 1931, to Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Magee.

He pastored several churches, among them Mt. Moriah BaptistChurch in Lincoln County from 1956-60. He was a former president ofthe New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Board of Trustees. Hewas president of the Louisiana Baptist Convention from 1985-87.

Survivors are his wife, Vivian Eve Spell Magee of Ruston; hischildren, Dr. Bruce Robert Magee of Ruston and Vivian Gayle MageeRed of Garland, Texas; his siblings, Walter Magee of Brandon, SadieCrawford of Madison, Grace Valentine of Collins, and Allen Jones ofVidalia, La.; and five grandchildren.
