Services for Walter Day “Dub” Posey of Sylvarena were March 28,2003, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs with burial inBethany Cemetery.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Hueston Adkins. Music wasprovided by Carol Spradley and Willie Mae Burge.

Mr. Posey, 77, died March 25, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on Sept. 22, 1925, to Harvey Posey andLemmie Watts Posey.

He was a retired construction supervisor. He was a World War IIarmy veteran , receiving the Purple Heart and other medals.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Sara JamesPosey; a brother, Paul Harvey Posey; and a sister, Ruby PoseyMoak.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Day PoseyHockel and Randy Hockel, both of Bay Springs; his sisters, RuthPosey Keen of Hammond, La., and Aileen Posey Brumfield of BogueChitto; his grandchildren, Ehren Belgarde and Josette BelgardeHill, both of Bay Springs; his great-grandchildren, Cameron Hilland Landry Hill; a nephew; several nieces; and other relatives andfriends, including Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Burge.

Pallbearers were Ehren Belgarde, Richard Moak, Elmo Burge,Robert James, Ronnie Joe Keyes and Joseph Houston.
