Today, The DAILY LEADER continues its publication ofvaledictorian and salutatorian speeches from the Class of 2011.Today’s address is from Kaitlin Moak, Enterprise Attendance Centersalutatorian.

Good evening and welcome ladies and gentlemen, friends andfamily to the graduation ceremony of the Class of 2011 atEnterprise Attendance Center.

Classmates, wow, look we have finally made it! Tonight wereceive our diplomas: the goal we have worked toward sincekindergarten.

This goal opens doors to the beginning of the rest of our lives.We are taking a big step forward, but we will never forget thefriends we have made along the way.

Just as in the movie “Toy Story,” through all the adventures wehave had and experienced, we have stuck together as friends. Now,as friends we pass the torch to our underclassmen. Through theadventures, you will experience adversities, hardships, and trials,but you must remember to stick together.

Friends are honest with each other, so they develop trust.Friends forgive, so there is peace. Friends lend a shoulder to cryupon, and friends laugh in all the good times. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10says two are better than one, because they have a good return fortheir work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pitythe man who falls and has no one to help him up!

That is why tonight I thank my friends for being there for meand encouraging me every step of the way. Also, I would like tothank our teachers for putting in your time and effort to get usready for the world after high school.

I know this class might have been a handful since we are thelargest class to ever graduate from Enterprise. A special thanks toour senior sponsors Mrs. White and Mrs. Eubanks for helping us havea great senior year. We would have never gotten our New Orleans orPercy Quin trip together without you.

Thank you to all parents, grandparents, and all family membersfor always pushing us and encouraging us to achieve this goal. Youhave been there for us through it all, and will always be there forus. I would specifically like to thank my mom and dad for alwaysencouraging me to do better and to achieve bigger.

Also, Jedd, thank you so much for helping along the way. Thereis no other person I would want to be second best to. Besides,everyone already knew you were smarter than me. Thank you to Mr.Eubanks for allowing us to have all of the senior privileges we hadthis year. Also, thank you Mrs. Brumfield, Mrs. Angie, Mrs.Chastity, and Mrs. Alice. Although you did not deal with usdirectly, we seniors knew if we needed your help we would getit.

To everyone here, thank you for attending and for yourattentiveness. Tonight I leave you with the feeling of joy for ouraccomplishments, sadness because we are leaving, and a feeling ofperseverance that will produce success. Seniors, I wish all of youluck in your future and I will be praying for you along the way. Ihope you all will always remember that you have friends in theClass of 2011.
