Services for Otha L. Alexander, of Jayess, are 2 p.m. Sunday, March21, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church with burial in the churchcemetery. The Revs. Ray Bowling and Marty Givens will officiate.Catchings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Alexander, 95, died March 19, 2010, at Silver Cross NursingHome. He was born in Lawrence County on March 16, 1915, to BennyAlexander and Adeline Beard Alexander.

He was a self-employed plumber. He was a member of Calvary UnitedPentecostal Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Benny and AdelineAlexander; his wife, Rhoda Mae Barnett Alexander; his sons, GordonM. Alexander and Daniel Alexander; two brothers; and threesisters.

Survivors are his sons, Benny Alexander and wife, Betty, ofGoodlettsville, Tenn., Gerald Alexander and Therl Alexander andwife, Sherrie, all of Brookhaven, Arlon Alexander and wife,Shirley, of Jayess, and Carey Alexander and wife, Inez, of Raymond;his daughters, Kay Barnett and husband, Steve, of Monticello, andMarilyn Thornhill and husband, Paul, of Jayess; his brother,Clarence Alexander, of Jayess; his daughter-in-law, Ann Alexander,of Vidalia, La.; and numerous grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ben Alexander, Doyle Alexander, DannyAlexander, Rodney Alexander, Graig Alexander and BrandonBarnett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Landon Thornhill, Michael Alexander,David Alexander, Ernie Milum, Mark Smith, Mark Lindsey, Kevin Catesand Johnny Franks.

Frank Augustin

A funeral mass for Frank Augustin, of Brookhaven, is 11 a.m.,Monday, March 22, at the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040Lapalco, Blvd., Marrero, La., with private intermentservices.

Visitation is Sunday from 6 until 10 p.m. and again on Monday from8 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Mr. Augustin, 55, died March 17, 2010. His parents are the lateJoseph and Margaret Leinberger Augustin.

Mr. Augustin was a master barber having operated shops in GrandIsle, La., Marrero, and most recently at Mary’s Barber Shop inBrookhaven. He was a native of New Orleans, La., and had been aresident of Brookhaven for the past four years.

Survivors include his children Frank Augustin Jr. and MargaretAugustin; and his siblings, Ti-Joe, Richard, Jack and EileenAugustin.

James Walter Berry

Services for James Walter Berry, of Madison, are 2 p.m. Monday,March 22, at Georgetown Baptist Church with burial in GeorgetownCemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home andMonday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at thechurch.

Mr. Berry, 85, died March 19, 2010, at Mississippi Baptist MedicalCenter.

He was a native of Simpson County and attended school there beforeserving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married GraceMiddleton and was a professional truck driver his entire careeruntil retiring in 1999. He lived in Georgetown most of his life andwas a member of Georgetown Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Grace E. Berry; his sisters,Linnie Mae Kennedy Davis and Helen Benson; and his brother, BidwellBerry.

Survivors are his sons, Jimmy Berry and wife, Glenda, ofHazlehurst, and Doug Berry; his daughters, Diane Morea and husband,Robert, of Georgetown, Deborah Rice and husband, Phil, of Madison,and Beverly Saucier and husband, Dawayne, of Lumberton; his sister,Lillie Holyfield, of Shivers; his grandchildren, Jessica Rice,Jennifer Rice, Reese Berry, Josuah Morea, Hanna Morea, AshleaBerry, Blake Saucier and Grace Saucier; his great-granddaughter,Presley Rice; and several nieces and nephews.

Rachel Posey Bullock

Services for Rachel Posey Bullock, of Bogue Chitto, are 1 p.m.Monday, March 22, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial inthe church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bullock, 78, died March 20, 2010, at her residence. She wasborn on July 19, 1931, to Louie L. Posey and Jessie MaeDickey.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant Hill BaptistChurch.

Known as Mrs. Rachel to many in the community, she was happiestworking in her yard, volunteering her time at King’s DaughtersMedical Center, or caring for others. She was a faithful servant ofher Lord and Pleasant Hill Church. She was a loving wife, mother,and grandmother and she will be missed by many.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Louie and Jessie Posey;and her husband, James F. Bullock Sr.

Survivors are her son, Jimmy Bullock and wife, Jan, of BogueChitto; her grandchildren, Brian Bullock and David Nugent and wife,Kara; and her great-grandson, John David Nugent.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pleasant HillBaptist Church Building Fund.

He was retired from Georgia-Pacific paper mill, where he worked inthe shipping department for 32 years. He was a member of UnionBaptist Church and served in the U.S. Army National Guard MilitaryPolice.

Services for Frank Arnold McDavid, a native of Brookhaven and aresident of Baton Rouge, La., were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March22, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on Natchez Drive, with burialin Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. The Rev.David Fortenberry officiated. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East in BatonRouge, and Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive were in chargeof arrangements.

Local visitation was held at Brookhaven Funeral Home on NatchezDrive on Sunday from 3 until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. untilthe time of the service.

Mr. McDavid, 81, died at 3:20 p.m. on March 18, 2010, at Our Ladyof the Lake Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired printer and pressman and a U.S. Army veteran ofthe Korean War. He was a member of Fair River Baptist Church inBrookhaven and was involved with the Boy Scouts, Mississippi Landand Forestry Association, Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association, andvarious community civic groups.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 52 years, Helen BahmMcDavid; his parents, George D. Sr. and Wilmer Lewis McDavid; hisbrother, George Dewey McDavid Jr.; and his sister, Irene McDavidPorter.

Survivors are his daughter, Deborah Matherne and husband, Paul; hissons, Keith McDavid and wife, Tamara, and Ricky McDavid and wife,Sharon; his sister, Marguerite McDavid Williams; and hisgrandchildren, Brian McDavid, Benjamin Boyett, Royce Matherne,Darla Matherne, Nathaniel McDavid and Jerry Matherne.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, and Paul Matherne and AltonPorter.

Coliene McNamee

Visitation services for Coliene McNamee, a longtime resident ofBrookhaven, are Monday from 2 until 4 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome on North Jackson Street.

Mrs. McNamee died in her sleep on March 17, 2010, at a health carefacility in Albuquerque, N.M. She was born on July 10, 1920, inKemper County but spent most of her life in Brookhaven. She movedto New Mexico in 2002 to be closer to her daughter andfamily.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brookhaven.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Earl McNamee, ofBrookhaven.

Survivors are her son, Ellis Earl McNamee and wife, Kathy, of NorthLittle Rock, Ark.; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Hart and husband,Deron, of Albuquerque; her grandsons, Brian Hart, and wife, Sharon,and Derek Hart, all of Albuquerque; and her great-grandchildren,Ian Hart and Autumn Hart, both of Albuquerque.

William Sedley Rayborn

Mr. Rayborn, 86, died March 18, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Lawrence County on Nov. 2, 1923, to Emmett Clyde Rayborn andWilmer Lee Cothern Rayborn.

He was a high school graduate and a retired letter carrier for theU.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Jayess Baptist Church,where he served as a deacon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WorldWar II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a pasttrustee of Lawrence County Hospital.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Edith Alicia DayRayborn; and his daughter, Suzonne Rutland.

Services for Johnnie W. Redden Jr., of Wesson, are 2 p.m. Sunday,March 21, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Redden, 68, died March 18, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Baton Rouge, La., on March 15, 1942, to Johnnie Wilson Reddenand Dorothy Womack.

After serving in the U.S. Army for 22 years, he worked for theCopiah County School System as a cafeteria manager at the CrystalSprings Elementary School. He was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his son, KennethWilliam Redden.

Survivors are his wife, Francis M. Redden; his daughter, Tabatha R.Johnson and husband, Wayne, of Brookhaven; three grandchildren;three step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
