Co-Lin slugs Kishwaukee

WESSON — First baseman Jody Britt homered and rightfielderCasey Ginn went 4-for-5 to spark Co-Lin’s attack as the Wolvesoutscored Kishwaukee (Ill.) Community College 11-5 Tuesday atwind-blown Sullivan Field. Ginn tripled, scored twice and had 2 RBIplus a stolen base.

Co-Lin (8-4), riding a 6-game winning streak, resumes playSaturday at Delta in Moorhead for a 1 p.m. game. The Wolves are atHinds Sunday for a 2 pm. makeup game.

Britt launched a 2-run homer off a 3-0 count, The opposite fieldshot cleared the right field fence in the seventh and ignited a4-run rally.

Casey Deason got the win in relief. In 2 innings, he gave up 3hits and 1 run, walked 1 and fanned 1.

Tyler Perrett started on the mound for Co-Lin. He gave up 2 hitsand 3 runs, walked 3 and fanned 1. Two runs were unearned.

Catcher Diego Nucete, second baseman Patrick Williams, thirdbaseman Justin Sykes and Britt has 2 his apiece. Keeyon Sanders,Nucete and Ginn doubled. Collecting singles for Co-Lin were GuyAllemon and Aaron Guillot.

Co-Lin committed 6 errors with 3 of them coming on errantpickoff throws by the pitchers.

“I feel real good about this game,” said Co-Lin head coach KeithCase. “We were concerned about our pitching. Cole Zumbro has asprained ankle. Cass Brister and Ryan Belanger have tendershoulders.

“It was good to win three against a good Kishwaukee team.”

Matt Reynolds was the losing pitcher and was replaced in theseventh. Three hits by Garrett Oros led the Kougars in batting.
