ELLISVILLE — Pauline Love scored 15 points to lead five JonesCounty Junior College players in double figures, sparking the LadyBobcats to an 86-72 Monday night upset of the No. 10-ranked Co-LinLady Wolves. It was the first South Division loss for the LadyWolves (16-2, 6-1).

Jones County (14-4, 5-2) outhustled and outrebounded the LadyWolves.

In the men’s game, Co-Lin whipped Jones County 71-52, powered byguard Corey London’s 16 points. Greg Truvillion chipped in 13points.

Co-Lin resumes play Thursday night, hosting Pearl River for aSouth Division doubleheader. The women’s game tips off at 6 p.m. inMullen Gymnasium, followed by the men at 8.

The Lady Wolves fell into early foul troubleand Jones forged a 43-36 halftime lead. The Lady Bobcats shot 54percent from the field and 33 percent from 3-point range. Co-Linwas 48 percent fro the field and 22 percent from 3-point range.

“Jones played a good game,” said Co-Lin women’s coach GwynYoung. “They went to the boards and outrebounded us by 13. Wedidn’t play with the focus we needed against a good team.”

Sophomore center Erica Trahan led Co-Lin with 15 points and 6rebounds. Nikki Williams scored 12 points and Whitney Scott netted11 points and 8 rebounds.

Kelsey Hopkins scored 15 points and Kim Lewis 14 for Jones.

The Wolves (13-4, 6-1) outrebounded the Jonesmen 47-32. Charles Lewis and Marshall each had 9 rebounds forCo-Lin and Truvillion grabbed 8.

“We struggled offensively for the first 16 minutes of the game,”said Co-Lin men’s coach Dennis Sims. “We need to start our gameswith a little more focus, to stay successful in this league.”

Co-Lin maintained a share of the South Division’s top rung withGulf Coast. London scored 12 of his points in the second half. TheWolves shot 47 percent percent from the field.

Jones (3-14) got 18 points and and 10 rebounds from RyneBrooks.
