Services for Carney Ray Morris, of Natchez, are 11 a.m.,Saturday, July 7, at Jefferson Chapel AME Church in JeffersonCounty with burial at the church cemetery. Marshall Funeral Home ofBude is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service time atthe church.

Mr. Morris, 66, died June 30, 2007, at Natchez CommunityHospital. He was born in Cannonsburg on Sept. 16, 1940, to CarneyMorris and Dorothy Ware Morris Patterson.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Carney Morris andDorothy Ware Morris Patterson; one daughter, Tammie Y. Christmas;one son, Claude T. Williams; one sister, Flora Kizee; threebrothers, Charles Morris, David Morris and Paul Winfield.

Survivors are his wife, Mary L. Morris, of Natchez; three sons,Percy Williams, of Natchez, Carney Morris Jr., of Los Angeles,Calif., and Bobby Thomas, of Chicago, Ill.; one stepdaughter,Barbara Fitzgerald, of Los Angeles, Calif.; four sisters, GeorgiaPatterson and Gertrude Norman, both of Natchez, Pearlena Patterson,of Fayette, and Patricia Peuh, of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers,Ralph Patterson and Walter Patterson, both of Natchez; 10grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;two aunts; two brother-in-laws; one sister-in-law; a host ofnieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
