Walter Barner Conerly Jr.

Services for Walter Barner Conerly Jr., of Jackson, are 3 p.m.Tuesday, May 17 at Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown with burial inRowley Cemetery in the Darbun community.

Visitation is Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Capps, 90, died May 14, 2005, at his residence. He was bornin Walthall County on April 1, 1915, to Walter Barner Conerly Sr.and Beulah Summer Conerly.

He was a retired nurse. He was a veteran of the Army withservice in World War II. He received the Purple Heart. He was amember of Grace Baptist Church in Jackson.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Ada Earle Mulford Conerly, of Jackson;his two daughters, Pattie Haguewood, of Purvis, and Nancy Boone, ofBrookhaven; his two sons, Ronnie Conerly, of Brandon, and BillyConerly, of Springhill, La.; two sisters, Maxine Magee, of Kokomo,and Laverne McDonough, of Jackson; 10 grandchildren, fivegreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

F.K. Horton Jr.

Services for F.K. Horton Jr., of Wesson, are 11 a.m. Wednesday,May 18 at Sylvarena Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Horton, 74, died May 14, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in New Orleans on Feb. 20, 1931, to Francis K.Horton Sr. and Mattie Elizabeth McIver.

He was a retired business manager. He was a veteran of theKorean War and served in the Navy. He was a member of the AmericanLegion. He was also a member of Sylvarena Baptist Church, where hewas a deacon for 40 years and taught the men’s Sunday schoolclass.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Lucile Watson Horton, of Wesson; hisdaughters, Letha H. Presley, of Wesson, and Alison H. Fryant andher husband, David, of Brandon; his son, Francis K. Horton III andhis wife, Angie Chaing Mae, of Thailand; his brother, James Horton,of Arlington, Texas; his grandchildren, Emily Presley, MattiePresley, Kennedy Horton, Katie Horton, Kelsey Horton, KonnerHorton, Jorja Montgomery and Anna Montgomery; and onegreat-grandchild, James Taylor Miller.
