Thomas Eugene Hewitt Jr.

Services for Thomas Eugene Hewitt Jr., of Summit, were 3 p.m.Saturday, Dec. 16, at Hartman Funeral Home Chapel with burial inWoodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Hewitt, 90, died Dec. 14, 2006, at Camellia Estates. He wasborn in Summit on September 27, 1916, to Dr. Thomas Eugene Hewittand Edna Watkins Hewitt.

He was a retired conductor of the Illinois Central Railroad. Hewas a deacon of the Baptist Church of Summit.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his infant son, ThomasEugene Hewitt III; and his wife, Myrtle Edwards Hewitt.

Survivors are his sons, Charles Clayton Hewitt, of Brookhaven,and William Thomas Hewitt, of Louisville, Ken.; five grandchildren;and seven grandchildren.
