Andrew Decatur Burris

Services for Andrew Decatur Burris, of McCall Creek, were 10a.m. today, June 6 at Mount Gilead Primitive Baptist Church inMcCall Creek with burial in the church cemetery. Hartman FuneralHome of McComb was in charge of arrangements. Elder David Cothrenand Elder David Burris officiated services.

Mr. Burris, 75, died June 3, 2005, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in McCall Creekon Aug. 6, 1929, to Jacob Fleet Burris and Terrel Elizabeth RacliffBurris.

He was retired from Allied Signal in Baton Rouge. He was amember and deacon of the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in BatonRouge.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Brian DecaturBurris; two brothers, Albia and Addision Burris; and two sisters,Lauretta Watson and Nellie Corban.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Lee Burris, of McCall Creek; twosons and one daughter-in-law, David Burris and wife, Shirey, ofBaker, La., and Danny Lee Burris, of Taos, N.M.; two daughters andone son-in-law, Andrea Lynn Holmes, of Charlotte, N.C., andElizabeth Ann Beasley and husband, Donnie, of McCall Creek; sevengrandchildren, Shane Burris and wife, Leah, Holly Mureiko andhusband, Paul, Jesse Holmes, Wesley Holmes and wife, Andrea, KatieBeasley, Briana Beasley and Wren Beasley; five great-grandchildren,Paul, Rachel, Andrew and Nathan Mureiko and Stephen Burris.

Winnie Belle Hall

Services for Winnie Belle Hall, of Bruce, formerly of Natchez,are 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hall, 87, died June 4, 2005, at Baptist Hospital, NorthMississippi in Oxford. She was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 30,1917, to Perlie Lofton and Martha Case Lofton.

She had moved to Bruce four years ago after living in Natchezfor 60 years. She was retired and had worked at Armstrong Tire andRubber Company in Natchez. She was a member of Washington BaptistChurch in Natchez, where she taught Sunday school for 48 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 65years, Frank L. Hall; and one brother, J.Z. “Zake” Lofton.

Survivors are her daughter, Sandra Pope and her husband, Rudy,of Bruce; a sister, Katy Linder, of Columbus, Ga.; onegranddaughter, Stephani Gay and her husband, Eric Gay, of Shelby,N.C.; one grandson, Michael Verucchi and his wife, Deborah, ofNashville, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Avery Ericson Gay, ofShelby, Caroline Addision Gay, of Shelby, and Parker AngeloVerucchi, of Nashville; two brothers-in-law, J.L. Hall, and hiswife, Nancy, of Baton Rouge, La., and Johnny Hall and his wife,Terri, of Jena, La.; her caregiver, Martha Gordon, of Vardaman; andnumerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
