The death of a 19-year-old patient at the JuvenileRehabilitation Facility has been declared as the result of naturalcauses consistent with seizure, said Deputy Lincoln County CoronerRobert Tyler.

An autopsy done Wednesday in Jackson yielded the determinationthat confirmed authorities’ earlier beliefs that no foul play wasinvolved.

“No foul play was shown during the autopsy,” said Tyler, whowitnessed the procedure done by Dr. Steve Hayne.

JRF Director Regina Terry said the Panola County client, who hada history of self-abuse behavioral problems and seizures, stoppedbreathing around 11:39 a.m. Monday and staff members initiated CPR.The client was taken to KDMC where he died Tuesday morning.

As legally required, state and local authorities were notifiedfollowing the Monday morning incident.

A representative of the Attorney General’s office was scheduledto meet with local officials at the JRF today regarding theincident, Terry said. However, after obtaining autopsy results lastnight, the AG’s office has closed the case, she said.
