Services for Larry Douglas Marks Sr. of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Feb. 28, at Alexander High School with burial inSpringfield Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 8 p.m., at WilliamsMortuary, and Saturday from 10-11 a.m., at the school.

Mr. Marks, 56, died Feb. 21, 2004, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Lincoln County on April13, 1947, to Thomas Marks and Hannah Inez Marks.

He was employed for 35 years at Georgia Pacific. He was an AirForce veteran, serving as a sergeant. He was a 1966 graduate of EvaH. Harris School, where he was a member of the 1964 StateBasketball Championship team, and voted most popular boy in thesenior class. He was a member of Springfield Missionary BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Carlos; asister, Mary Lee Eunice; and his brothers, Jimmy and ThomasHercules.

Survivors are his wife, Linda Crump Marks of Brookhaven; hischildren, Larry D. Marks Jr. and wife Zandra of Laurel, ThomasMarks and Jason Smith, both of Brookhaven, and David Smith ofJackson; his sisters and brother-in-law, Vera and Samuel Rogers ofMilwaukee, Wis., and Sadie Tillman of Brookhaven; fourgrandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
