Services for Bill Randolph Grimes of Monticello are 2 p.m.,Sunday, Feb. 15, at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. WilsonFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from noon until 2 p.m., at the church.

Mr. Grimes, 65, died Feb. 12, 2004 at St. Dominic’s Hospital inJackson. He was born to Emmett Grimes and Irene Pruitt Grimes.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial managementat Georgia Institute of Technology. While at Georgia Tech, heplayed football as a lineman for the Yellow Jackets and was amember of the ROTC. After receiving his commission as a secondlieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve, he served on active duty atFort Dix, N.J. He then joined Shell Oil Company in Jacksonville,Fla. as a salesman. In 1963, he joined the Oak Ridge Institute ofNuclear Studies in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and married Judy McAulay ofMonticello. In 1965, he joined Atlantic Steel in Atlanta, Ga.,where he built a 29-year career in sales, earning the position ofsales manager. He retired from Atlantic Steel in 1995 and startedhis own business as a manufacturer’s representative. In 1998, heand his wife moved to her hometown of Monticello.

Grimes was an active member of the Episcopal Church of theRedeemer where he sang in the choir. His lifelong involvement withthe church stems from childhood leadership roles in the MethodistYouth Fellowship, where he served as president of the localcongregation and the state sub-district. He served as president ofthe Monticello Lions Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a daughter, MaryLochlin Grimes.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Grimes; his daughter, Leigh AnneJaunsen of Florence, Italy; his daughter-in-law, Curtis Jaunsen;his sister, Marie Grimes Lawler of Huntsville, Ala.; his grandson,McAulay; and his granddaughter, Stewart.
