MERIDIAN – District Six handed District Seven a tough 11-0 lossin five innings Thursday night in baseball action in the 2000 StateGames. District Six is made up of players representing theSouthwest area of Mississippi. The tournament isdouble-elimination.

In the other games, District One crushed District Four 11-1,District Two nipped District Three 3-2 and District Eight dumpedDistrict Five 9-7.

District Seven faces District Five today at 1 p.m.

Taylor Tankersley posted the win for District Six with twostrikeouts and one walk.

Brian Tettway led District Six with a double and two singles.Nathan Sanders tripled, doubled and singled. Brett Byrd collected apair of singles.

The losing hurler was Cole Zumbro of Franklin County with onestrikeout and one walk in one inning. Adams County ChristianSchool’s Chris Rayborn worked the next two innings with threestrikeouts and three walks. Finishing the final two were DustyAultman of Columbia, striking out three and walking one.

Charles Pittman of McComb, Zumbro and Michael Clements of NorthPike singled for District Seven.
