Restaurant undamaged in water troubles

McCOMB – A Brookhaven businessman’s restaurant in the EdgewoodMall in McComb escaped damage Wednesday afternoon when the mall’sdrainage system failed and water poured into the shoppingcomplex.

Despite being close to the action, the Edgewood location ofBroma’s Deli didn’t see so much as a drop of water, althoughseveral other stores in the mall received water and ceiling damagewhen a 10-inch drainage pipe on the roof burst around 3 p.m.Wednesday. Restaurant owner Donnie Mitchell said the deli was notaffected by the breakage and would be open as usual Thursday.

“We were open throughout it all yesterday,” he said.
