The Lady Wolves (8-2, 2-0) rebounded from a disappointing loss at Delgado. They were tied 54-54 at the end of regulation.

“For the most part, we played well,” said Co-Lin women’s coach Gwyn Young. “We had some letdowns but our defense was really good the first half. We went to the boards well. But we had far too many turnovers; 32 for the game.”

Young said his team must improve their free throw shooting after watching them make 15 of 26 from the charity line. “We missed the front end of a bunch of one-and-ones.”

On the backboards, sophomore forward Vintrice Briggs led Co-Lin with 11 rebounds. Tiffany Sims made 5 steals.

Baton Rouge got 19 points from Ashley Williams.

The Wolves (1-10, 0-2) were outrebounded 53-34 by Baton Rouge. Seventeen points and 8 rebounds by Jeffrey Walker led the Bears.

Co-Lin men’s coach Dennis Sims watched his Wolves finish 0-for-9 from 3-point range. They were 9 of 19 at the charity line and 12 for 58 in field goals. They had 19 turnovers.
