Services for Kennith Patterson of Jackson are 1 p.m., Saturday,March 16, at Mt. Sanai M.B. Church in Liberty with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon through the family hour which is6-7 p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home.

Mr. Patterson, 36, died March 12, 2002, at Baptist MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born in Liberty on March 27, 1965, toEula Patterson Jackson and John Patterson. He was a 1983 honorgraduate of Liberty High School and received the B.A. degree fromJackson State University in 1989.

He was employed in the English Department at JSU and waspursuing a master’s degree there. He was a member of Alpha Mu GammaNational Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society,NAACP, and Pierian Literary Society.

He was a member of Mt. Sanai M. B. Church.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors are his mother, Eula Patterson Jackson of Liberty; hisbrothers, Obyde Patterson of Chicago, Roy Patterson of McComb,Ronnie Patterson of Liberty and Tyrone Patterson of California; hissisters, Maxine Nimox and Janice Bates, both of Liberty, Linda Leeof Cincinnati, Ohio, Avon Caston of Bogue Chitto, Faye Ratliff andPauline Harris, both of Jackson, Deborah Tiller of Louisiana, andreared as a sister, Mary Catherine Bates of Cincinnati; a specialfriend, Millicent Baxter of Atlanta, Ga.; and William Jones ofUtica, whom he mentored; and a host of nieces and nephews.
