SUMMIT — Southwest Mississippi Community College football has added two more assistant coaches with Brookhaven natives Cameron Achord and Jessie Bowman joining the staff of head coach Tucker Peavey.

Achord, a graduate of Brookhaven Academy and Belhaven University, will be in charge of the special teams and receivers. He will also be the recruiting coordinator. He spent the past three years as a graduate assistant at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Bowman, a Brookhaven High School and Mississippi State graduate, will coach the Bears’ defensive line on a volunteer basis. He comes to Southwest from McComb High School where he spent the 2012 season, also as the defensive line coach.

Peavey coached 10 years at BHS before moving to Southern Miss where he coached the offensive line for one season. He was hired at Southwest in December, replacing Charles Anthony at the helm.

Also on staff are Jamie Everett, offensive coordinator; Kelby Bowman, defensive coordinator; and Donald Dykes, defensive coach.
